報(bào)告人簡介:

Dr. Cher Hon Lau,愛丁堡大學(xué)工程學(xué)院的高級講師(副教授)。畢業(yè)于新加坡義安理工學(xué)院、弗林德斯大學(xué)和新加坡國立大學(xué),專注于分離科學(xué)等材料科學(xué)相關(guān)領(lǐng)域的研究,部分研究在中國和澳大利亞成功轉(zhuǎn)化。在《Science》、《Nature Communications》、《Science Advances》、《Angewandte Chemie International Edition》、《PNAS》等期刊發(fā)表60多篇科學(xué)論文,總被引超6000多次,h指數(shù)為41。

報(bào)告簡介:How much plastic waste can we generate and reuse? What can we do to improve plastic recycling rates? Are we able to create a single solution that tackles 3 key environmental issues – plastic pollution, water pollution and greenhouse gas emissions in a single go? This seminar will demonstrate how recent research activities within The Scale-Up Lab at The University of Edinburgh can contribute towards achieving these innovative solutions. The work is based upon transforming plastic waste generated within the University, scaling up the production of these materials underpinned by Green Chemistry concepts and 3D-printing technologies, and validation across research labs around the world for carbon capture, wastewater treatment and resource recovery from municipal wastewater.
